Detailed Day-wise Itinerary

Day-1 : Bear Lake Trailhead to Haynach Lakes Camp

  • Hike 10.2 miles (16.4 km) with an elevation gain of 3,700 feet (1,130 m) to Haynach Lakes Camp.
  • Enjoy stunning views of Bear Lake, Flattop Mountain, and the surrounding peaks.
  • Camp at Haynach Lakes Camp, which is located in a beautiful alpine meadow.

Day-2 : Haynach Lakes Camp to Emerald Lake

  • Hike 6.2 miles (10 km) with an elevation gain of 1,800 feet (550 m) to Emerald Lake.
  • Take a swim in the crystal-clear waters of Emerald Lake.
  • Hike to the Emerald Lake overlook for panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding peaks.
  • Camp at Emerald Lake Campground.

Day-3 : Emerald Lake to Lake of Glass

  • Hike 7.8 miles (12.6 km) with an elevation gain of 2,500 feet (760 m) to Lake of Glass.
  • Enjoy the solitude of Lake of Glass, which is a less-visited lake in the park.
  • Hike to the Lake of Glass overlook for stunning views of the lake and the surrounding peaks.
  • Camp at Lake of Glass Campground.
